The January transfer market is typically a time of feverish speculation and potential major moves. Several high-profile footballers are being linked with moves out of their current teams. Here is a look at a selection of the major figures who might be changing clubs this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite Ghana's failure to qualify for the AFCON, which has left the forward in contention, reports suggest an important move is imminent. The Bournemouth attacker has a deal with a £65 million release clause applicable for a short window in early January. Recent reports suggest Manchester City are now the frontrunners for his signature. Former suitors like Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have turned their attention to other options, potentially opening the door for clubs such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a last-minute bid.

Marc Guéhi

This England defender has continued to impress for Crystal Palace this season a previous move to Anfield falling through. As his contract due to run out in the summer, this represents the club's final opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. A host of elite clubs, such as City and multiple continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly be interested. However, a January departure is considered difficult, particularly given the manager's dependence on the player.

Brennan Johnson

This Welsh winger has found first-team minutes hard to come by at Spurs this campaign. Although finishing as the side's leading goalscorer last season, Johnson has started just a small number of league games. It is understood the London outfit would be open to a sale for the right valuation, thought to be in the around forty million pounds. The Cherries appear to be at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also credited with an inquiry.

Spurs value the Welsh international at approximately £40m.

Rúben Neves

The Portugal midfielder could be set for a comeback to the Premier League following a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Now just 28, and with his contract expiring in the summer of 2026, he is a possible bargain. Teams like Liverpool and Manchester United are connected to the player. Additionally, there have been suggestions from Spain that he is willing to take a pay cut for a move to the Spanish giants.

M. ter Stegen

The veteran German goalkeeper is now as third-choice at Barcelona under new manager Flick. Having fallen out of favour and undergone surgery, a January departure looks increasingly likely. Villa were initially mentioned as a potential destination, but that move currently seems off. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be expressing interest in the keeper.

I. Toney

The prolific English striker has continued finding the net regularly in the Middle East. A return to the Premier League could boost his fading hopes of being in the England World Cup. But, securing a deal poses major hurdles. Al-Ahli do not wish to part with him, and his alleged enormous weekly wages render any agreement complicated. Tottenham, Manchester United, and Everton are all mentioned as interested parties.

C. Gallagher

The dynamic English midfielder attracted widespread attention in the off-season but stayed at Atlético.
